The Graduate Certificate in Gerontology at UNC Charlotte requires the completion of a foundational course as well as elective courses related to the study of aging. Gerontology at UNC Charlotte is both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, integrating materials from various disciplines and requiring students to study aging from a variety of perspectives.
We have multiple pathways between the Gerontology Graduate Certificate and Master’s and Doctoral Degree options.
To apply to the Graduate Certificate in Gerontology, applicants will need to submit their resume, a 1-2 page statement of purpose addressing why they want to complete this particular graduate certificate, all transcripts from schools of higher education, and two letters of recommendation. Students who are currently enrolled in a graduate program at UNC Charlotte may waive their letters of recommendation.
